20 Years of Commitment to a Sustainable and Livable Future
The 20th-anniversary edition of the Université de la Terre will take place on March 14 and 15, 2025, in Paris, at the Maison de l’UNESCO, its historic and iconic venue, as well as at the Ministry of Health and Mediawan. This exceptional edition marks a new milestone for an event that has become one of the most emblematic in Europe.
In 2025, the central theme, Nature = Future, presented as an equation, underscores the urgent need to redefine progress and align it with ecological and human challenges. Nature = Future is a call to action for all-citizens, policymakers, businesses, and researchers-to open a new chapter for civilization, one that restores meaning to life, our lives, and our shared future on Earth.
A Citizen Gathering at a Crossroads
Founded in 2005, Université de la Terre has always aimed to bring people together around ecological and social challenges. The 2022 edition drew over 10,000 participants, highlighting a growing interest in these existential issues. For 2025, the stakes are high: to collectively reflect on a new model of civilization that reconciles progress with respect for the living world.
In homage to the poetic world of The Little Prince, this edition will be held under its gentle gaze, thanks to a partnership with the Antoine De Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation. This tribute resonates with the spirit of Université de la Terre, encouraging everyone to recognize their responsibility to the planet.
New Thematic Tracks
This anniversary edition will be organized around five unique thematic tracks:
• The Universal path, open to various topics and accessible to all
• The Biodiversity focusing on issues related to life and biodiversity in connection with Nature = Future, in partnership with the Office Français de la Biodiversité (OFB)
• The Parliament of Future Entrepreneurs, a path for economic transformation and change, in partnership with MACIF
• The International path, offering a global perspective with international speakers and sessions that are translated and broadcast live
• Junior Earth University, a one-day program for 6-12-year-olds and their parents; these educational sessions aim to engage children in awareness, understanding, and action through concrete steps
A Call to Collective Action
This pursuit of a better future is both individual and collective. It is our responsibility to act to preserve life on Earth—first by deeply understanding the challenges, then by adopting concrete actions. The 2025 edition of Université de la Terre will be a pivotal moment to take stock after 20 years of discussion and commitment, opening new perspectives for the decade ahead and rallying all stakeholders.
Join us on March 14–15 for a unique event, promising broad engagement around the most significant equation of our time: Nature = Future.
