“ Kogis, Together to Heal the Planet“ : screening and discussion with Éric Julien (free)
Join Éric Julien, geographer, consultant, and explorer of interstitial spaces, for an immersive and inspiring session. The event will begin with a screening of his film "Kogis, Together to Heal the Planet," which chronicles an unprecedented dialogue between the Kogis of Colombia and our modern world. Following the screening, Éric Julien will be present for a Q&A session, offering a valuable opportunity to delve deeper into the film's themes and collectively reflect on how to reinvent our connection to the living world.
Synopsis:
From September 25 to October 18, 2023, invited by the NGO Tchendukua Ici & Ailleurs, five representatives of the pre-Columbian Kogi community (Colombia) participated in an improbable dialogue on the health of the Rhône River and several remarkable sites in our territories. From the Rhône’s source to its delta, passing through two Corsican megalithic sites, the Feyssine Park (Villeurbanne), and the thermal waters of Joze, listening, respect, and trust allowed our two sciences—modern science and the territorial knowledge carried by the Kogis—to open a pathway to a new perspective on life.

Indigenous, native, or rooted, can a dialogue with these human societies—surviving on the margins of our modernities—help extract us from an imagination that excludes us from life? Could they be, not mere remnants of the past, but the last bastions standing against the advance of the desert and its desolations, as Nietzsche evoked? Could they help us invent or awaken a different relationship with nature? To rediscover our interdependence with all things, since everything is nature!
