Cynthia FLEURY

Philosopher and Psychoanalyst, Professor of the "Humanities and Health" Chair at the National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts (Cnam)

Philosopher and psychoanalyst, Cynthia Fleury is a full professor of the "Humanities and Health" Chair at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (Cnam), also an associate professor at the École des Mines (PSL/Mines-Paristech), and holds the Chair of Philosophy at GHU Paris Psychiatry & Neurosciences.
Her research focuses on tools for democratic regulation, the principle of individuation in a social state of law, and democracy in health. She is the author of several books, including Dialoguer avec l’Orient (PUF, 2003), Les pathologies de la démocratie (Fayard, 2005; Pocket Edition, 2009), La fin du courage (Fayard, 2010; Pocket Edition, 2011), Les irremplaçables (Gallimard, 2015; Folio, 2018), Ci-gît l’amer. Guérir du ressentiment (Gallimard, 2020), and La clinique de la dignité (Seuil, 2023).
She has taught at École Polytechnique and Sciences Po (Paris). Former president of the NGO Europanova, organizer of the États Généraux de l’Europe, she became the youngest member of the CCNE (National Consultative Ethics Committee) in 2013. She is also a founding member of the UNESCO European Network of Women Philosophers and a member of the ethics committee of the Institut Pasteur.
