Fanny PARISE

Anthropologist

Fanny Parise, PhD in socio-anthropology (Sorbonne Paris Cité) and journalist (École Supérieure de Journalisme de Paris), defended her thesis in 2015 on social housing and the strategies employed by working and middle-class households to cope with purchasing power constraints. As an industrial anthropologist, she has been studying the impact of beliefs on consumption since 2012, both in the Western world and beyond, while leading research projects for major corporations.
She teaches anthropology of consumption at universities and schools and contributes to media outlets such as The Conversation and Slate.fr. A member of Anthropik and the Alcore Institute, her research takes a transdisciplinary approach inspired by Cultural Studies.
