Gérard Bertrand, a visionary entrepreneur, has been leading a renowned group for over 35 years, celebrated for the excellence of wines from the Languedoc-Roussillon region. A native of Saint-André-de-Roquelongue, he elevates regional terroirs, inspired by the values passed down by his father, Georges.

A pioneer in biodynamics, he embraced the practice in 2002 at the Domaine de Cigalus and later expanded it to his 17 Châteaux and Estates, creating the largest Demeter-certified vineyard area. He preserves biodiversity while producing iconic wines.

His creations, such as Côte des Roses and Clos du Temple, showcase his expertise and support the organic transition of partner winegrowers. In 2023, Drinks Business named him the World’s Best Winemaker.

An ambassador of the Mediterranean lifestyle, he has transformed Château l’Hospitalet into a flagship destination for wine tourism, featuring an annual Jazz Festival. As a committed author, he embodies a leading figure in French winemaking.
