Bill FRANÇOIS
Biophysicist, Naturalist, and Writer
Bill François is a biophysicist, naturalist and writer. A former student at the École Normale Supérieure, he studies how physical laws shape the diversity of living things, particularly underwater. Today, he travels the globe to better understand and preserve aquatic life, and is involved in several marine species preservation programs.
Between two trips out to sea, shows and eloquence competitions propel him towards his other world: that of words. His books, which combine science, humor and poetry, reveal the hidden facets of nature and question our relationship with the species that surround us. To date, they have been translated into 19 languages. Several of them, such as Eloquence de la sardine (2019) and Les génies des mers (2023), tell the general public about the secrets of the underwater world, to convey the desire to protect it.
