After studying communication and advertising, which focused on encouraging consumption, Lara Sibieude chose to “change course” by joining Zero Waste Paris, first as a civic service volunteer and later as a full-time employee. The organization is one of many local groups in the Zero Waste France network, whose mission is to promote waste and resource reduction at the source.

Her work with Zero Waste Paris has involved raising awareness among both children and adults about the zero-waste and zero-wastefulness approach, addressing issues such as food waste, the prevalence of single-use packaging, fast fashion, and the sorting of organic waste. In contrast to her initial training, she now seeks to offer concrete solutions for fostering mindful consumption and reducing all forms of waste and inefficiency, driven by the belief that the best waste is the one that is never produced!
