A teacher for 20 years (and an association volunteer), Christophe Aubel became Director of the association Humanité et Biodiversité in 2001 (in this role, he also served as a board member for France Nature Environnement and the French Committee of IUCN). In 2017, with the creation of the French Agency for Biodiversity (AFB), Christophe Aubel was appointed Director General of the institution. In 2020, following the AFB's integration into the French Biodiversity Agency (OFB), he became Deputy Director General for Social Engagement. This department covers the following areas of action: protected areas, support for biodiversity strategies, marine issues, and engagement with stakeholders and citizens.
