Marc-André SELOSSE

Marc-André SELOSSE

Professor at the National Museum of Natural History, Paris

Marc-André SELOSSE is a professor at the National Museum of Natural History in Paris and at the universities of Gdansk (Poland) and Kunming (China), where he leads research teams. He teaches at the École Normale Supérieure, Sciences Po, and HEC Paris. His work focuses on the ecology and evolution of mutually beneficial associations (symbioses). As a mycologist and botanist, he particularly studies mycorrhizal symbioses that connect soil fungi with plant roots. He is the president of BioGée, a member of the Academy of Agriculture of France and the Institut Universitaire de France, and serves as an editor for four international scientific journals as well as the popular science magazine Espèce. He has published over 250 research articles, 290 popular science articles, and around a hundred videos available on YouTube. He has written several popular books, including one about humanity's place in nature (Nature et Préjugés, 2024). In 2020, he received the Homme-Nature Prize from the Sommer Foundation.
