Laurence DEVILLERS

Professor of Artificial Intelligence at Sorbonne University and Researcher at CNRS

HUMAAINE chair: Human-Machine Affective Interaction & Ethics (2019-2026). Her research focuses on human-machine interaction, emotion detection, spoken dialogue, affective and interactive robotics, machine learning (LLM, deep learning), and ethics. She is the president of the Blaise Pascal Association for scientific mediation in mathematics and computer science. She has been a member of national (CERNA, CNPEN) and international (IEEE) digital ethics committees and a member of AFNOR. She has written several essays, including Des robots et des hommes in 2017 and Les robots émotionnels in 2020. In 2023, she co-wrote a play with Serge Abiteboul and Gilles Dowek titled Qui a hacké Garoutzia? about chatbots and memory, which was performed for the first time at the Avignon Off festival.
