Nathanaël WALLENHORST

Nathanaël WALLENHORST

Professor at the Faculty of Education at UCO, where he serves as Dean. Member of the Anthropocene Working Group (AWG)

Nathanaël Wallenhorst holds a doctorate in educational sciences, environmental sciences, and political science. He is a professor at the Faculty of Education at the Catholic University of the West, where he also serves as dean. He has written and edited around twenty works on the political, educational, and anthropological implications of entering the Anthropocene and currently directs the Encyclopedia of the Anthropocene – Pluriversal Perspectives (with Wulf, Springer Nature). He is a member of the Anthropocene Working Group (AWG), responsible for dating the onset of this new geological epoch, and leads the international research network "Education in the Anthropocene" for WERA, the global association for educational research. He founded the collection "Earth System – Climate, Biosphere, Society" at Actes Sud, which publishes translations of scientific articles and their analyses aimed at placing scientific knowledge at the heart of society. His latest work is Contenir l’emballement bioclimatique (Actes Sud, 2025).
