Peter Wohlleben, born in 1964, wanted to become a nature conservationist since he was a child. He studied forestry and served as a civil servant in the state forestry administration for over twenty years. Today, he works at the forest academy he founded in the Eifel and advocates worldwide for the return of primeval forests. He is a guest on numerous TV shows, gives lectures and seminars, and is the author of books on topics related to forests and nature conservation, which have sold 2.5 million copies in German-speaking countries alone. For his emotional and unconventional way of conveying knowledge, Peter Wohlleben was awarded the Bavarian Nature Conservation Medal in 2019.
