Former journalist and co-founder of a communications agency, Xavier Cazard came to the conclusion that the more communication channels we have, the less we actually meet. In order to regenerate collective forms and rebuild social bonds, he opened La Maison de la Conversation in September 2021, a third place where everyone can experience the civilizing power of conversation. Located at the Porte de Montmartre, in a priority district in Paris' 18th arrondissement, the house welcomes 15,000 visitors annually. It brings together people who might not otherwise meet through free social and cultural programming, training, and the design and support of innovative social and cultural initiatives.
