Aska YAMASHITA

Aska YAMASHITA

Artistic Director of Maison Montex - Chanel

Aska Yamashita began her career as a designer. At 19, she joined the Montex Atelier, where her role evolved over the years. Initially responsible for the drawing workshop, she later became the artistic coordinator, ultimately taking the reins of artistic direction in 2017. At Montex, Aska fosters a spirit of research, where creation emerges equally from drawing and materials, from design and manipulation. Her vision of embroidery is that of a craft in constant evolution—a discipline rooted in tradition but looking toward the future. Nourished by technological advances, she continuously reinvents this centuries-old savoir-faire, multiplying creative possibilities while ensuring its soul is preserved. Committed to opening embroidery to new fields of expression, she develops technical associations and fosters creative collaborations in diverse areas such as haute cuisine, jewelry, performing arts, and technology.
