Benoît Hamon has held several positions within the government, including as Minister Delegate for Social and Solidarity Economy and Consumer Affairs, and later as Minister of National Education, Higher Education, and Research. He is the author of two laws: the "Hamon Law" aimed at strengthening consumer rights in France, and the law related to the Social and Solidarity Economy (ESS). Benoît Hamon has also served as a Member of the European Parliament and a Member of the French National Assembly. Since 2021, he has been the Director General of an international NGO, SINGA Global, which works in the field of inclusion for refugees and newcomers. For Benoît Hamon, this commitment is an extension of his dedication to justice and equality. In April 2024, he was appointed President of ESS France.
