Christian CLOT

Explorer-Researcher, Founder and CEO of the Human Adaptation Institute

For nearly thirty years, Franco-Swiss explorer-researcher Christian Clot has dedicated himself to exploration and scientific research. He has led expeditions across all types of terrains, both terrestrial and marine, questioning the interaction between environments and humanity's capacity to adapt to changing conditions and crises. He has achieved several world firsts, including the opening of the central part of the Darwin Cordillera (Tierra del Fuego, Chile) and the successive crossing of the four most extreme environments on the planet. He has also designed and directed major missions such as Deep Time and Deep Climate.
Since 2004, he has initiated research programs focused on crisis situations and human adaptation capacities in response to change (in collaboration with the Maison des Sciences de l'Homme and Paris 13). In 2014, he founded the Human Adaptation Institute, which innovatively studies human cognition, physiology, and sociology under new living conditions, always in real-life situations.
He is the author of numerous books and films and is a member of the Société des Explorateurs Français. Crédits photo : Bruno Mazo
