Malek BOUKERCHI
Anthropologist, Motivational Speaker, Extreme Ultra-marathoner, and Founding President of LES 42
At the end of 2013, Malek stood as the only “enlightened amateur” among professionals and the only French person preparing to run 100 km in Antarctica, in temperatures of -45°C, after a “warm-up” marathon on-site. He was about to experience the constant dizziness of total uncertainty...
And in early 2020, he became the only enlightened amateur to complete, in a spirit of “resilience,” a fully self-supported 1,500 km trek across the Mauritanian desert, enduring 19 days of sand, rocks, and fierce winds.
An extreme ultramarathoner, but also a writer-poet, storyteller-philosopher, and community educator-anthropologist, Malek wields the magic of words that awaken and keep watch. Through his stories, which carry millennia-old wisdom, he sparks wonder that leads to reflection and awareness. He generously shares the vibrant joy that drives him, inspiring others to resonate and reason together differently.
His action-research firm, ARSYNOE, engages in “transform’action” of relational and situational intelligence, tightly linking the adventurous mindset with the determination and willpower essential for success in any endeavor.
Since 2023, Malek has founded the association LES 42: Transforming the Impossible into Possible, which challenges at-risk youth to complete 42.195 km (marathon distance) as a means to enter professional life with a renewed sense of purpose. The aim: self-transcendence toward collective achievement, symbolizing the delicate union of discipline and the idealism of unified, compassionate hearts.
