Frédéric BORDAGE

Frédéric BORDAGE

Founder of the Green IT Association

Frédéric Bordage is the French pioneer of responsible digital technology and digital sobriety. For twenty-one years, he has been helping major private and public organizations quantify and reduce the environmental impact of their digital activities, transforming these constraints into drivers of innovation and competitiveness. He also co-founded the NegaOctet.org consortium and founded the software company Resilio Solutions.

As an independent expert, he contributes to the development of standards and methodologies in France and Europe, leads GreenIT.fr—the collective of experts behind initiatives for digital sobriety, responsible digital practices, and more recently, slow tech—and creates tools widely used by responsible digital professionals, such as EcoIndex.fr, the Green IT Framework, and the Green IT Benchmark.

Frédéric is the author of key reference works, including "Striving for Digital Sobriety" (Actes Sud, 2021), "Digital Sobriety: The Keys to Action" (Buchet-Chastel, 2019), "Web Eco-design: 115 Best Practices" (Eyrolles, 2012–2025), as well as numerous studies such as "Assessment of the Environmental Impact of Digital Technology in France" (Ademe-Arcep, 2022) and "The Environmental Footprint of Global Digital Technology" (2015–2025).
