Born on July 14, 1956, Jacques Bilirit is a key figure in territorial development in Lot-et-Garonne. He serves as President of Val de Garonne Agglomération, Vice President of the Lot-et-Garonne Departmental Council in charge of Culture, and Mayor of Fourques-sur-Garonne.
With a university background in economics, Jacques Bilirit has dedicated his career to local development and the sustainable transformation of territories. For over two decades, he has played a pivotal role in intermunicipal cooperation and territorial planning. Under his leadership, Val de Garonne Agglomération, encompassing 43 municipalities and 62,000 residents, has emerged as a hub of economic, social, and cultural dynamism in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, with a strong commitment to various transitions—ecological, energy, social, economic, and digital.
His involvement extends to strategic organizations, including the Val de Garonne Guyenne Gascogne Territorial Hub, uniting four intermunicipal entities, which he has chaired since 2022, and the board of Intercommunalités de France, where he has been a member since 2023.
