Lydie LESCARMONTIER

Glaciologist and author

Lydie Lescarmontier is a glaciologist specializing in studying the impact of climate change on the Antarctic ice sheet. After over 10 years of research career and 25 expeditions in the Arctic and Antarctic, she became a climate change educator for a foundation under the aegis of UNESCO, aimed at creating educational resources on climate change. She is also an author, with her latest book, "La Voix des Pôles," published in 2021 by Flammarion. Currently, Lydie works as a consultant for scientific and educational projects on climate and polar regions. In 2023, she joined the U.S.-Swedish NGO International Cryosphere Climate Initiative and advocates for the protection of polar regions in international climate negotiations. She also supports the European Capital of Culture Bourges 2028 in its work on low-carbon transition in the arts and culture.
