In videoconference - Mathilda D'Silva is the Founder and CEO of the Ocean Purpose Project (OPP), a Singapore-based
social enterprise focused on ocean conservation and reducing plastic pollution. Formerly a TV
producer, radio DJ, and Head of Community for Mediacorp and StarHub, she turned to sustainability
after a transformative experience in Boracay’s polluted waters.
At OPP, Mathilda spearheads initiatives like plastic-to-fuel technology, seaweed bioremediation, and
bioplastics development to combat marine pollution and promote the blue economy. Her work
emphasizes community engagement and education to inspire collective environmental action.
A sought-after speaker, Mathilda has shared her expertise at global forums such as COP27, Climate
Week NYC and UN Ocean Conference, making her a recognized advocate for ocean conservation and
social entrepreneurship.
