The Value of Scientific Discourse

In a society where information travels at lightning speed and fake news blurs the lines, how can we restore scientific discourse to its rightful place? This panel delves into the critical challenges of credibility, dissemination, and the impact of scientific data in the context of climate change. How can this knowledge be transformed into a powerful tool for informed political decisions and foster greater public trust in science? A must-attend discussion for anyone seeking to understand and take action.

For the love of water

I am an element. I shape landscapes and connect worlds. I am elusive. I am more vital than air, deeper than the ocean. Like life itself, I am essential and compelling. I carve out mountains, shape valleys, irrigate roots. Where I go, lives blossom, hearts soothe and minds connect. Who am I, who am I... I am Water.
In this session, a number of personalities will share their relationship with the element of water, whether from an emotional, scientific, spiritual or philosophical point of view, with the idea that the better we know it, the better we talk about it, the better we protect it. We want to go beyond a purely utilitarian vision and adopt a sensitive approach to water.

Boldness and commitment : making our values a driving force for action

Changing Perspectives, Rethinking Connections, Deconstructing Without Disrupting… They are a winemaker, a mayor, a pastry chef, united by a shared drive: the desire to innovate differently. At a pivotal moment in their journeys, each felt the need to reassess their practices—not through revolution, but through thoughtful, respectful evolution rooted in listening to others and their communities.

This session shines a spotlight on inspiring individuals who, through their conviction, dedication, and creativity, embody a new way of doing things. Their boldness lies not in radical upheaval but in their ability to take the time to build differently, giving true meaning to the words responsible, participatory, and creative.

Through their stories and concrete initiatives, discover how these unique paths can transform not only their respective industries but also relationships between people, paving the way for a brighter future.

Third-Places: a silent social revolution

What do a café, a community garden, a shared garage, a park, a public services centre, a connected campus, a coworking space and a shared workshop all have in common? These spaces, known as third places, are much more than just places where people pass through. Inspired by the sociologist Ray Oldenburg, they are based on two essential principles: accessibility and hospitality. They are places where people meet, share and sometimes even take refuge.
Today, these sociable spaces are under threat. The model has been taken over by giants like Starbucks and coworking chains, transforming these places into simple consumer or work hubs. But what remains of the original idea? How can we preserve their human and social dimension, which is vital to our democracy and our collective commitment?
Join us to find out how to reinvent these living spaces and defend them against commercial abuses.
