A graduate of ESC Rouen, Grégory Doucet has dedicated over 18 years of his career to international solidarity and humanitarian work. During his university years, he served as president of the student organization GENEPI, which promotes the social reintegration of former prisoners. He is the founder of the NGO Planète Enfants & Développement, which protects vulnerable children and supports their development.
In 2009, he joined the Lyon office of the NGO Humanité & Inclusion as the Director of Operations for West Africa, where he led a team of over 500 people serving vulnerable populations in about ten countries, particularly in the Sahel region.
Grégory Doucet furthered his commitment by being appointed Secretary of the Europe Écologie Les Verts (EELV) party in Lyon in 2017. As a co-organizer of the March for Climate, he launched a call in April 2019 to unite all ecologists in Lyon to “Change Lyon.” He won the municipal elections and was elected Mayor of Lyon in July 2020. Grégory Doucet is also the President of SPL Lyon Confluence and Lyon Part-Dieu, the President of the Supervisory Board of the Hospices Civils de Lyon, and Co-President of the health commission of France Urbaine.
