Réjane SÉNAC

CNRS Research Director at the Political Research Center of Sciences Po

Réjane Sénac is a CNRS research director at CEVIPOF, the political research center at Sciences Po, where she also teaches. She is the head of the Department of Political Science at Sciences Po and a member of the steering committee of the PRESAGE research and education program on gender studies. From January 2013 to January 2019, she served as the president of the parity commission of the High Council for Gender Equality, an advisory body to the Prime Minister.

Her research explores contemporary expressions of the principle of equality, particularly through the lens of legitimate and illegitimate differentiations. She is currently studying the synergies between contemporary mobilizations against injustices, particularly those related to sexism, racism, social inequality, ecology, and speciesism. Her notable publications include Comme si nous étions des animaux (Seuil, Libelle, 2024), Radicales et fluides. Les mobilisations contemporaines (Presses de Sciences Po, 2021), L’égalité sans condition. Osons nous imaginer et être semblables (Rue de l’échiquier, 2019), and Les non-frères au pays de l’égalité (Presses de Sciences Po, 2017).
