Wolfgang CRAMER

Wolfgang CRAMER

Research Director at CNRS, Mediterranean Institute of Biodiversity and Marine and Continental Ecology (IMBE)

Professor Wolfgang Cramer is a geographer and ecologist, specializing in global ecosystem modeling. He is a Research Director at CNRS at the Mediterranean Institute of Biodiversity and Ecology (IMBE) in Aix-en-Provence. He has had an international career, notably at the University of Potsdam and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. His work initially focused on forest dynamics in the face of climate change before expanding to a broader understanding of the biosphere, including natural and human disturbances, as well as biodiversity. Wolfgang Cramer led the European project ATEAM and contributed to the first regional assessment of ecosystem services in Europe. An Associate Member of the French Academy of Agriculture, he co-chaired MedECC and actively contributed to the IPCC. Wolfgang Cramer is also co-editor-in-chief of the journal Regional Environmental Change.
