As part of the University of the Earth, the UNESCO Campus offers an interactive and inspiring conference tailored to 13-18-year-olds. This unique moment will spark discussions around a crucial issue that younger generations need to understand and address: "Sustainably Managing Our Water Resources."

In the face of intensifying climate change impacts and growing demographic pressure, global action on glaciers, wetlands, and individual consumption habits is more urgent than ever. Water, a contested resource and a fundamental right, is vital to maintaining the balance of our planet.

We have plunged into the AI and digital age, where generative AI applications, now accessible to all, are revealing their inescapable role in our daily lives. What civilisation projects are driving the players in these technologies? In the service of what?
This observation raises a recurring question for humanity when faced with major technological advances: should we be wary of them or, on the contrary, encourage their development?
The AI revolution is probably still in its infancy, and has considerable transformative power. Faced with the environmental and social challenges we face, some people see AI as an almost divine tool for imagining a new project for society.
In this session, researchers and experts will ask: how far can AI go? Will it replace us? Overtake us? Or augment us?

Building and living differently : Let's take care of our territories
The threats are mounting: climate change, a rapid decline in biodiversity, increased pollution of the air, land, rivers and seas, and growing inequalities. These extreme events are making the headlines, and the massive artificialisation of land has a lot to do with it. Yet cities continue to expand their infrastructures, encroaching on nature and altering watercourses, sometimes to the detriment of local residents. Can we really expand without limit in a world of finite resources, while neglecting the social issues at stake?
This raises the question, which goes well beyond semantics, of how to ‘manage’ our territories instead of ‘developing’ them. The stakes are reversed: it's no longer a question of constraining and adapting territories to our needs, but of imagining a new way of building and living.
Building and planning professionals cannot shirk their responsibilities. The world must change, but what are the solutions?

How far does our health depend on that of our planet?
Did you know? Massive meat consumption, fuelled by the boom in factory farming, is a breeding ground for viruses such as SARS, which jump from animals to humans.
As well as releasing huge quantities of CO2, deforestation disrupts ecosystems and increases the risk of disease transmission between wild animals and humans.
The excessive use of pesticides in agriculture, while increasing food production, is polluting our rivers and soils, contributing to the loss of biodiversity and threatening the health of local populations.
This complex entanglement between our health, that of animals, and that of our planet is at the heart of the ‘One Health’ concept. But how well do we really understand the impact of our individual and collective choices? It's a complex issue, often reserved for specialists, but one that deserves to be understood by everyone: how do our everyday choices influence the health of the planet, of animals and of humanity, and how far do we have to go to rethink our model of society in order to ensure the health of all?
